STRIDE secures Outline Planning Consent for Health Village at Queens Hospital, Burton
Morgan Sindall Investments' through its STRIDE joint venture with University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB), today received notification from East Staffordshire Borough Council that their outline planning application to develop a Healthcare Village (Outwoods) on surplus land adjacent to the Queens Hospital in Burton has been approved.
Outwoods is set to provide new accommodation for a local GP Practice and supporting community services, a 50 bed step down facility, a 40 bed care home, a community Hub, an 80 Extra Care residency, an 88 Doctors and Nurses accommodation as well as a 100 place nursery. Works are due to commence on site early 2020.
Duncan Bedford, Managing Director for Burton at UHDB stated, ‘the Trust had the foresight to engage Health Innovation Partners in a joint venture to provide commercial expertise to developing our hospital site as well as support its effective and efficient delivery. The Outwoods Healthcare Village will enhance the way health and social care work together to provide an integrated approach for the benefit of the people we are responsible for.’
