Slough Urban Renewal announces Wexham Green, its second new residential scheme

Slough Urban Renewal is bringing further transformation to Slough with the start of its second residential development ‘Wexham Green’. This major project will transform the former Wexham Lane Nursery on Wexham Road into a residential community of 104 high quality family homes built by Lovell.

The site is in a leafy part of Slough and the development has been carefully designed to embrace this green character and provide new homes for aspirational families. Wexham Green will incorporate extensive landscaping to enhance its position next to the green belt and the Grade II listed building “Wexham Lodge”.

Initial works began earlier this month and construction commences in September to build a range of two, three and four bedroom detached and semi-detached new houses. Homes are planned to be released Spring of 2017. These homes will be built to a high specification and will offer both private homes and those for affordable rent. Help to Buy will be available on the development, subject to price level, to assist those keen to take their first step onto the housing ladder.

The start of Wexham Green comes within a year of the launch of ‘Milestone’, SUR’s first residential development. The Milestone show home opened early this month and we have almost 50% of the development already sold. There are a range of 3 bed homes still available for sale at this town centre location. Interested buyers can register their interest by calling 01753 326146 or by visiting www.milestone-slough.co.uk

Councillor Zaffar Ajaib, commissioner for neighbourhoods and renewal, said: “The council is committed to providing new and affordable homes for local people, despite the challenging lack of space to build in the borough. We have built 264 new homes in the past year alone, and 1,000 more are currently under construction - including the new homes at Milestone and at Castleview in Upton. “The Wexham Green development is significant because it demonstrates the ongoing success of SUR; our regeneration partnership and the second site beginning construction. It is exciting to see new homes being built in this part of the Borough - and I look forward to seeing the finished homes.”

Alastair Gourlay, a board member at Slough Urban Renewal said: “Slough has huge potential and it is our aim, through this exciting partnership, to deliver a host of projects that will enhance what the town already has to offer and to deliver much needed, high quality new housing for those living and working here. Wexham Green will be a fantastic leafy new location ideal for family living”
