MSIL/CSPC projects recognised at NHS LIFT Awards

The First Annual LIFT award took place on Tuesday 19th March 2008 and offered the opportunity for the members of the LIFT industry to meet and celebrate the success of the scheme as well as recognise the outstanding work already produced in the field.

NHS LIFT is a central government initiative created to revitalise primary care premises where traditional mechanisms for funding GP properties have proved unsuccessful. It builds and refurbishes primary care premises which it then owns and rents its accommodation on a lease basis. NHS LIFT is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) set up as a limited company with the Department of Health the NHS and the private sector as stakeholders.

Barnsley Community Solutions and Bury Tameside and Glossop Community Solutions, two subsidiaries of Community Solutions for Primary Care (CSPC), a Morgan Sindall Investments Limited joint-venture company, have won awards for Regeneration and Community Improvement respectively.

Peter Cox, General Manager for CSPC, commented, “This is a great achievement and well done to everyone, we all know what a team effort it takes to pull off any kind of bid, let alone win a couple of awards for it”.

The two projects were new purpose-built centres part of the new wave of ‘super surgeries’ opening up for NHS patients across the country, contributing significantly to the health and social well-being of their respective towns as well as creating employment opportunities and incorporating a series of features to promote sustainable technologies.
